My Review:
Readers! I cannot stress how brilliant this series is! Personally I do not prefer to read series, but I couldn't wait to get my hands on the next book after I finished the first. Tera Lynn Child's really mastered the difficult art of writing, especially about mermaids in this three part series. It was beautifully written with descriptions that you could really dive into and live in. Also, it was very quirky and funny as well! In some way, I could relate to Lily, who has to learn to juggle the many various aspects of life that continue to build as we get older, which includes how to juggle family time, boyfriend time and work time (in Lily's case, Princess time). I must also mention that this series has taken off at a phenomenal rate. People are making collages and descriptions of what Lily and Quince look like, and I really hope this could be an awesome movie some day.  I cant really discuss the series in depth because I dont want to ruin anything! However, I really recommend this series, readers. It is a very modern and fresh series that has taken off and is becoming wildly popular. I cant wait to buy the whole series to add it to my collection :) I give this series (*****) 5 stars.

My Review:
As the readers of my blog know, I will review any, and I mean any, Little Mermaid book I can get my hands on! I must say, next to Rachel Isadora's interpretation (also on the blog), this is my second favorite. What I love about this book is not only did the author keep the original text from the Hans Christian Anderson original, but the illustrations were absolutely breathtaking, and that definitely adds a bit of magic to any mermaid book. They were vibrantly colored, rich in detail and just simply breathtaking. Here are some pictures from the book:

As you can see, the images in this book really bring the mystery of mermaids to life. I really recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of mermaids or The Little Mermaid story. I give this book (*****) 5 stars.

My Review:
This mermaid book is truly phenomenal, and one of a kind. For those of you who keep up with my blog consistently, you will see that I review all sorts of mermaid books, especially ones that share mermaid secrets. However, this one is absolutely gorgeous! The book opens up with a young girl claiming that she saw a mermaid, who then leaves her a bunch of treasures from the deep. Continuing on in the mermaids perspective, she opens up to the young girl about her world and the mermaid culture, such as the styles of fashion and even the types of pets mermaids have. What I also loved about this book is the amount of beautiful mermaid images; they are truly stunning, and colorful, which is a must-have in a children's book. I will definitely be adding this to my mer-library, and I recommend to all of you to give this a try. It is perfect for children and adults alike since it is not written in a juvenile fashion, and it is full of interesting stories, pictures and information. I give this book (*****) 5 stars.

My Review: 
Although this is a book that is aimed at children, I didnt care and wanted to do a review on it because I love and adore The Little Mermaid, whether it is the Disney version or the Hans Christian Anderson Version. I really liked this book because it stayed true to the Disney version. It also has very beautiful screenshot-type pictures throughout the book. These can be very useful if someone wanted to do a sketch or painting of this Disney classic!

My Sister Sif by Ruth Park

My Review:
A beautiful island paradise, a city of coral and mermaids just a swim away... and a jealous little Riko is what this book is all about! The way that Ruth Park wrote this book really transports you to the mystical island of Rongo. Every time I read a page, I really felt like I was on the island experiencing everything with the sea people and partaking in adventures with the Menehune alongside Riko. I also loved Riko's transformation, which is very clear throughout the book. She starts off as a protective and jealous child, and blossoms into a caring and intelligent young woman. I must say though, one thing that did slightly bother me was that the plot didn't really thicken until the end of the book.  Also readers, prepare yourselves, because the end of the book made me look like this:

However, the book was overall very well thought out, and the way that the underwater race of seapeople were described added a hint of fantasy and adventure to the book. I give this book (****) 4 stars.

My Review:
I had heard about this book a while back on a goodreads.com page. I was skeptical about the storyline as well as the images when I first picked this book up, but we cannot judge a book by its cover! Although this cover portrays a rather depressing storyline, it was the complete opposite. In fact, it was quite a cute book! Maude is a beautiful twin-tailed mermaid who meets a human who accepts her for who she is, and I believe that even adults can learn from this story; that we have to accept the features we were born with, and to love ourselves the way we are. This is a lesson children need to learn early, especially women who face image issues throughout their lives. The images were also subtle, yet bright and very whimsical. I loved the image of Maude and her two tails! This is a book that I am definitely going to add to my mer-library. I give this book (*****) 5 stars.
